A state official has confirmed that Mexican forward Alan Pulido has been kidnapped. According to the Associated Press, the Olympiacos player has been missing since he left a party near Ciudad Victoria, Tamaulipas – his hometown – on Saturday. While the official remained anonymous, Pulido’s brother has spoken out and confirmed the kidnapping as well. In a phone interview with Mediotiempo, he said, “Yes, it’s true. He’s been missing since early morning, and we have the governor’s full support. We’re remaining vigilant of the situation.”

Mediotiempo reports that early versions of the story suggest that Alan attended a party with his girlfriend between 7 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. When heading out, several trucks reportedly stopped him and a group forcefully took him. Authorities have not provided any more details on the situation, according to the AP. Pulido, who got his start with Tigres, now plays in Greece.
