With all due respect to Star Wars heads, the sequel baseball fans are most excited about right now is Bartolo Colón.

Yesterday, the Mets and its most lovable gordito reportedly agreed to a one-year contract worth $7.25 million. According to CBS Sports’ Jon Heyman, Colón is a great fit for the Mets, who are in desperate need of a replacement pitcher while Zack Wheeler recovers from surgery.

Bartolo knows the Mets well, and vice versa, making it a perfect marriage. So much so that Colón reportedly accepted less money to stay in New York, where he has pitched for the previous two seasons of his 18-year career, going 29-26 with a 4.13 ERA.
