As if Keylor Navas hadn’t already solidified his status as el nuevo ídolo del Real Madrid, the Tico player was at it again on Saturday, completing his fifth straight clean sheet in a 1-0 victory over Granada and bettering Miguel Angel’s four-game record at the beginning of the 1975-76 season.

It was paradones like the one shown above that led some people to compare the goalkeeper to Pau Gasol, who’s fresh off a double-double MVP performance in the FIBA EuroBasket 2015 final.

Upon the conclusion of the match, Keylor made sure to thank the Real Madrid faithful, who are notoriously hard to please. “The coach believes in me. I have had the chance to stay and I will give it my best. I am very grateful to the Real fans for their support, which is not easy to earn.” After being treated like total garbage at the trade deadline, his level of professionalism is almost unfathomable.

Keylor is now a mere 10 minutes away from bettering San Iker’s personal best without conceding, after the legendary Madrid keeper went 460 minutes without collecting a ball from the back of his net in 2008-2009. He’ll look to continue his record-breaking run when the Madrid team visits San Mamés for a matchup vs. Athletic Bilbao this Wednesday.
