In a heartwarming show of cross-sport friendship, Lionel Messi posted this video to honor Steph Curry’s achievement of reaching 10 million followers on Instagram.
The warm gesture comes after Steph Curry sent Messi a jersey this past December, when the Barcelona crack reached 30 million Instagram followers of his own.
“It’s an honor for me to be able to share my jersey with you and it’s always a pleasure to see you play,” says Messi, no doubt hopeful that the shirt will bring a smile to Steph’s face despite his current injury woes.
Reports coming in today state that an MRI on Steph’s right knee (he slipped on a wet spot while guarding Trevor Ariza in the first half of the Golden State Warriors’ Game 4 duel vs. the Houston Rockets on Sunday) came back negative with no signs of damage. The star is scheduled to be re-evaluated in two weeks with a Grade 1 MCL sprain.
