Las Chivas can add one more #chivahermano to their fandom: the fastest man in the world. Upon receiving the new Chivas jersey yesterday, Usain Bolt had only good things to say about El Rebaño Sagrado.

Bolt checked out the rojiblanco jersey and spoke of his admiration for the only club in Liga MX to exclusively field Mexican players.

“Wow! Only local players? And they’re still one of the most successful teams? Well done, Chivas. Keep it up!”

Chivas immediately appreciated that gesture:

According to Mexican newspaper Record, Björn Gulden, the CEO of Puma, was the one who sung Chivas’ praises and put the club on Bolt’s radar. Bolt also learned that Javier “Chicharito” Hernández, whom he knew as a Manchester United player, was formerly a Chivas team member.

The Jamaican sprinter also said he would like to see Neymar live at the Olympics. But because of his own busy schedule at Rio, the chances that he’ll be able to enjoy fútbol at the Olympics as a spectator are slim.

Maybe once the Olympics are over and Bolt has a well-deserved break, he can watch a Chivas game or two. A winner like Bolt can’t go wrong by supporting one of the largest and most popular teams in Mexico, where fútbol is king.
