Superman hearts Shakira. In a video that has recently gone viral, British actor Henry Cavill (Man of Steel) is caught admiring someone he thinks is pop star Shakira on the red carpet.
The video, which comes from the red carpet during the 2015 New York premiere of Cavill’s film The Man from U.N.C.L.E., starts with a reporter asking the actor what he would like to see happen to his movie’s character, Napoleon Solo, moving forward.
Before he’s able to answer, Cavill’s attention is quickly diverted somewhere else on the red carpet. He looks at someone close by and gives a huge smile and opens his eyes wide. He then starts answering the reporter’s question, but stops himself to ask, “Is that Shakira?” before taking a longer glance her way.
There is no evidence that the person Cavill saw on the red carpet was actually Shakira, but whoever it was, she’d probably be flattered to know that someone mistook her for the “Hips Don’t Lie” singer.
We’re not sure who Cavill was dating at the time of the premiere, but he’s currently in a relationship with Natalie Viscuso, the vice president of Legendary Entertainment, the company that produced films like Dune and Godzilla vs. Kong.
Shakira has been in a relationship with Spanish professional footballer Gerard Piqué since 2011. They met when he appeared in her music video for “Waka Waka (This Time for Africa),” which was the official song of the 2010 FIFA World Cup. The couple have two children together. The second was born seven months before The Man from U.N.C.L.E. premiere. In 2013, Shakira and Piqué were named one of the world’s most powerful couples by Forbes magazine.
Good thing Henry Cavill wasn’t in Cannes this year or his eyes might’ve popped out of their sockets.
