Can you really call yourself a culture guide if you don’t talk about sports? This is a question we’ve been asking ourselves a lot recently. After all, sports are about more than scores and stats – they’re about community, culture, politics, and human dramas. And as an office that basically halted all operations whenever mid-day CONMEBOL Qualifier matches were on, we realized it was kind of weird that we don’t dedicate more of our coverage to the intersection of sports and culture in the Latino landscape. So we’ve decided to change that.

In the coming months, we’ll be launching a brand new, dedicated Sports section on the site – a place where we can delve deeply into the kinds of underground or alternative sports stories you don’t see much on the Latinternet. To kick things off and give you a taste of what to expect, Remezcla has teamed up with Pepsi to produce a short documentary series about some pretty diehard Latino NFL fans. We’re talking travel 12 hours on a bus from Monterrey to catch a game, name your first born after your team kind of diehard.  You can check out the first in the #FanEnough documentary series below, which takes a look a car club in Dallas devoted ENTIRELY to the Cowboys. Watch the rest on MiPepsi‘s page, and make sure to keep your eyes peeled for our new Sports section, coming soon!
