As the 2016 presidential race begins to ramp up, so will the race to woo Latino voters – meaning it’s “Hispandering” satire/meme open season. Last night on The Daily Show, Al Madrigal poked fun at the Hillary Clinton’s recent efforts to win us over, noting that while her rhetoric on immigration issues and a path to full citizenship may sound appealing, the Democratic party’s record of keeping these promises is shaky at best. Consider Obama, who preached a similar story, and then went on to deport more people than any other administration.
Madrigal also highlighted that while technically, Republicans have two candidates that Latinos can call their own this year, in his book there is only one true Latino candidate: Jeb Bush aka “El Yebe.” Watch the segment below.
