Adrienne Bailon Houghton has officially become a mother. The ex-Cheetah Girls star and host of The Real, welcomed her first child with husband Israel Houghton on Tuesday (August 16) via surrogate.

Bailon Houghton, who is also known for her time in 3LW and on The Masked Singer, married Israel Houghton in December 2019. While the baby boy is her first child, Israel Houghton has four children from a previous marriage. Bailon Houghton shared the happy news with fans in an emotional Instagram post.

Bailon Houghton posted a black-and-white photo where she’s holding her baby while doing skin-to-skin contact and looking down lovingly at her child with Israel Houghton by her side. In the IG post, she also opened up about her struggles to get pregnant.

“Our baby boy is here & we are so in love!” Bailon Houghton wrote. “If you have followed our love story, you know that our journey to baby has been very challenging. We have quietly prayed while sitting on this most magnificent secret for the last 9 months. He is worth every tear, every disappointment, every delayed prayer, every IVF cycle, every miscarriage. Everything. All we feel is joy and overwhelming love & gratitude. Grateful to God, to our angel surrogate and to all of our friends and family who have stood with us for over 5 years on this journey.”

Bailon Houghton was also a host on the talk show The Real, which was canceled this year after eight seasons. In an episode from 2018, she was real with her co-hosts and the audience about her fertility issues.

“I think that as an audience we should be sensitive to the fact that everybody doesn’t get pregnant right away,” Bailon Houghton said. “I think for myself I thought it would happen so easily for me and it just hasn’t happened that way. I’ve had to come to peace with that. It’ll happen when it’s God’s timing and I believe in that and I have faith in all of that. But it can be really discouraging and it can be really frustrating.”

Congrats to Adrienne on becoming a mom! The hashtag in her IG post #HappilyEverHoughton was a beautiful way to capture this exciting moment in her life.
