Bad Bunny rang in the New Year with a major change to his social media presence. The music superstar deleted all the content from his Instagram account and posted his first video on TikTok.

His Instagram account is still officially active and has 36.8 million followers, but zero posts are shown, and zero accounts are followed. Benito also deleted his profile picture.

Over on TikTok, Bad Bunny’s single day on the platform has already garnered him five million followers with the single video he posted this past weekend. The video features an 8-second clip of Bad Bunny sporting some serious bedhead and a semi-smile while holding a coffee cup. The clip then cuts to him holding a bottle of Moet & Chandon Ice Imperial champagne in front of a Christmas tree and wearing a pair of novelty 2022 glasses.

His girlfriend Gabriela Berlingeri then jumps into the frame wearing similar glasses and giving Benito a big hug and kiss on the lips. The soundtrack to his first TikTok? Bad Bunny’s song “Si Veo a Tu Mamá” from his 2020 album YHLQMDLG plays in the background.

“2022, lo de ‘maldito’ es de cariño,” Bad Bunny wrote alongside the video. “Yo sé que tu serás un buen año.”

We’re not sure if joining TikTok means that Bunny is leaving Instagram for good or if he’s just cleared his Instagram account to start fresh in 2022. However, whatever platform he decides to go with or expand on, his fans will be waiting to follow.

In 2021, Bunny was Spotify’s Most Streamed Artist Globally for the second year in a row. “I don’t go into it to be the No. 1 most-streamed artist,” he said at the time. “I just make music. I just enjoy my work. I hope 2022 is going to be great.”
