Cardi B is frustrated with some of her online followers and for good reason. It seems everything she posts on social media is met with some type of criticism.

The most recent example occurred Wednesday (March 9) when Cardi B posted a zoomed-in photo of her six-month-old son when someone commented about him: “…We ain’t seen him yet.”

The photo came with a comment from Cardi B saying, “That’s all y’all will get,” which apparently didn’t sit well with some of her followers. While many fans complimented the baby’s long eyelashes or made fun of the fact that Cardi B’s cell phone was not charged, there were some who were more decisive with their feedback and leaned into online troll territory.

“Girl, if you don’t show that damn baby already,” one person tweeted. Another said that posting a photo of only her baby’s eye was, “So petty and so Cardi.” Another said, “LMAO, Cardi you get on my damn nerves.”

Cardi B promptly clapped back.

“How people mad cause people was asking me to see my son and I replied?” she wrote after receiving some negative messages. “It seems like I can’t do or say nothing these days wit out people getting irritated. Maybe I should delete my social medias or just cause Wtfff.”

Cardi B continued with another tweet: “If I post is cause I want attention, If I speak my mind is cause I want attention, if I post a pic I want attention, I’d I talk about my kids which I’m wit everyday is cause I want attention…Like wtfff.”

Ultimately, social media, especially Twitter, has always been a toxic place. And many would say that this is the price to pay for fame. But the continuous venom aimed towards women in particular, especially those trying to protect themselves and their families from the public eye, seems sexist on all counts.
