Rapper Cardi B and hubby Offset have some new ink. During the Friday (February 11) episode of Cardi Tries, the couple decided that the best way to express their love for one another is to get matching tattoos.

It doesn’t end there, however. Instead of having a professional tattoo artist do the honors, Cardi B and Offset took control of the tattoo gun themselves and inked each other. The tattoos were done back in December 2021 and feature the anniversary of their marriage – September 20, 2017 (or, as the tattoo reads, 9/20/17).

Cardi B’s tattoo is on her left hand and Offset’s is on his right so that when they hold hands, the dates will be lined up with each other. Before the episode of Cardi Tries debuted Friday, TMZ had already broken the news about their new tats with some photographic proof. In one of the photos, Offset is sitting on a chair in a tattoo parlor smiling at Cardi B who has either finished giving him his new tattoo or is just about to start.

According to TMZ, the original plan was only for Offset to get the anniversary tattoo, but Cardi B ultimately agreed to get one, too. Latine celebrity tattoo artist Nikko Hurtado is the one who showed Cardi B and Offset how to use the tattoo gun.

“Been waiting to share this with you guys,” Hurtado wrote on his Instagram page with a screenshot of the online TMZ article. “What a fun experience getting to show [Cardi B] and [Offset] how to tattoo one another. [They] crushed it for [their] first time trying it out. Tune in tomorrow for [Cardi Tries] to see the magic and fun! Happy Valentine’s you two.”
