Rapper Cardi B is teaming up with Reebok for a new footwear collection. Inspired by her two-year-old daughter, Kulture Kiari Cephus, the “Mommy & Me” sneakers will include new versions of her Club C Cardi shoe, which debuted late last year. This is Cardi’s third collaboration with Reebok.
Cardi B says “the indescribable feeling of love” and “how her baby girl changed everything within her life” were reasons she wanted to start the new collection, which will include adult, junior and infant sizes. The new versions of her Club C Cardi shoe will include new colors, Rose Gold and Aqua Dust.
“Known as the metal of love, rose gold is shiny and feminine but strong and durable, much like Cardi’s love and affection for Kulture,” the press release states.
“The Aqua Dust colorway ties back to the aquamarine stone which represents clarity, calm and relaxation: three adjectives that Cardi uses to describe being a mom. Aquamarine is also the breathing stone which, to Cardi, is illustrative of how she feels now that Kulture is in her life.”
In a video Cardi made for the new collection, she jokes that her parenting tip for other moms and dads is to give their kids “Whatever the hell they want.” She also said she wants her daughter to know a few things as she grows up.
“You’re beautiful. You’re smart. You’ve got successful parents. The whole world loves you,” Cardi says in the video. “Ain’t no way you can’t make your dreams come true.”
Cardi B’s “Mommy & Me” collection will be available for purchase on May 13 at 10 a.m. ET.
