Those Air Jordan I x J Balvin sneakers you wanted? The shoes inspired by the Colombian reggaetonero sold out instantly once they went on-sale yesterday (Dec. 8).

Thanks to that Nike shoe collaboration, J Balvin became the first Latine artist to collaborate with the popular Air Jordan brand. Like his #LatinoGang buddy Bad Bunny’s shoes with Crocs, Balvin’s Air Jordans sold out online right away.

“Sold Out Global Sold Out,” J Balvin wrote in an Instagram post about the shoes. “They were gone in a minute from what I counted. I love them. THANKS @Jumpman23 (Jordans).”

J Balvin first previewed his Air Jordans at the 2020 Super Bowl Halftime show in February. Shakira and Jennifer Lopez invited him and Benito as special performers that night.

The Air Jordan I x J Balvin sneakers include the electric happy face from J Balvin’s Energia album. The rainbow colors are inspired by his recent albums Vibras and Colores. The shoes sold online at various retailers for $190. It’s not yet known if the shoes will become available again.

“Even the people who don’t know a lot about me are going to be into the shapes and colors,” J Balvin said in a statement. “It’s another way for me to connect with the world. It’s a dream come true.”

Back in October, J Balvin became the first Latine artist to collaborate with McDonald’s on an exclusive combo that was available in his name. He received a Guinness World Records plaque last month for being the most-nominated artist at the Latin Grammy Awards in a single night with 13 nominations. Balvin took home Best Urban Music Album for Colores.
