You’ve seen him serenade Jane at her baby shower, rock duets in Vegas with Xo, and dance his ass off at the Cordero/Villanueva wedding, and now, Rogelio De La Vega himself (aka Jaime Camil) is finally making his way to Broadway. Camil, who’s done plenty of musical theater in Mexico (including productions of West Side Story, Hook, Aladdin, and El diluvio que viene) and who’s now better known for his Critics Choice nominated role of Rogelio in the CW’s Jane the Virgin, is joining the hit musical Chicago for a limited engagement this summer.

He’ll be playing the role of Billy Flynn, the lawyer tasked with clearing the name of one Miss Roxie Hart, a wily woman who’s been charged with the murder of her would-be lover in the city of Chicago in the later 1920s. The role was played by Richard Gere in the 2002 Oscar-winning film adaptation and has been played on stage by Dirty Dancing’s Patrick Swayze, Dexter’s Michael C. Hall, NFL legend Eddie George, country music star Billy Ray Cyrus, and even Usher himself.

It won’t be the first time the long-running musical welcomes a Latino superstar: just last year Peruvian telenovela star Marco Zunino played Billy Flynn, and the year before Mexican actress Bianca Marroquin took on the role of Roxie, while back in 2009 the musical featured Modern Family’s Sofia Vergara in the featured role of Matron Mama Morton. Oh, and let’s not forget the fact that the original production earned Chita Rivera her second Tony nomination back in 1976.

So Rogelifans, get your tickets now because everyone’s favorite soap opera star is gonna razzle dazzle New York City audiences and you definitely don’t wanna miss it. #GoRo

Camil joins the Chicago cast on Broadway from May 31 to July 3, 2016.
