Nearly two weeks have passed since Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck held a second wedding ceremony, this time in front of family and friends at Affleck’s mansion in Georgia.
Although a few blurry photos and a video recorded by a guest have leaked, prompting JLo to speak out in admonishment at the violation of her privacy, not much about the big day has come from Bennifer 2.0 – until now.
On Thursday (September 1), Lopez sent out her official On the JLo newsletter to her fans and shared photos and more details about the ceremony.
In one of the photos, the newlyweds are embracing and looking into each other’s eyes. Above them, a glowing neon sign reads, “Mr. & Mrs. Affleck.” In another photo, Bennifer 2.0 are walking up the aisle after saying their “I dos.” Lopez is wearing a white, Ralph Lauren gown and veil. Affleck is wearing a white tuxedo jacket and black pants.
“When he saw me appear at the top of the stairs that moment it both made absolute sense while seeming still impossibly hard to believe, like the best dream, where all you want is never to awaken,” Lopez wrote in her newsletter. “I would have had many of the same thoughts probably had I not been focusing so hard on not tripping over my dress, but when I got close enough to see his face, it made the same wonderful sense to me.”
Lopez added: “Some old wounds were healed that day and the weight of the past finally lifted off our shoulders. Full-circle – and not at all the way we planned it. Better.”
Lopez also revealed that the children she shares with ex-husband Marc Anthony and the children Affleck shares with ex-wife Jennifer Garner walked her down the aisle to give her away.
“We weren’t only marrying one another; we were marrying these children into a new family,” she wrote. “They were the only people we asked to stand up for us at our wedding party. To our great honor and joy, each one did.”
