At 8 years old, Matías – who goes by Tito MX on YouTube – is already securing exclusive interviews with some of the biggest directors. On July 28, the vlogger updated an interview with Guillermo del Toro, and it’s seriously one of the cutest things online.
It’s a very short video – coming in at just one minute and seven seconds – but Matías, who came across del Toro outside of the En casa con mis monstruos symphonic concert at the Auditorio Telmex in Guadalajara, shined as a tenacious journalist intent on getting right to the point. “When did you first befriend monsters?” he asked.
“Since I was very young,” del Toro responded. “From when I was in a crib, in fact. When I was in a crib, I saw monsters, and I asked them, “Will you be my friend?” so that I could go to the bathroom. I couldn’t go to the bathroom; I was afraid.”
The young journalist also asked about del Toro when he became interested in movies before he wrapped up the interview.
