The Latinx House, an organization driven by the intent to unite the Latine community by providing the space for artists, content creators, grassroots organizers, and thought leaders, has announced a new festival. The event: Raizado Festival, hosted in Aspen from August 30 to September 1 and created to highlight the work of the Latine community even further.

The Latinx House is promising a weekend of events uplifting the Latine community and bringing together thought leaders from our communities. Along with panel discussions and networking opportunities, the Raizado Festival is also set to provide art exhibitions, live music, food, and film screenings.

“The Latinx community is deeply rooted in the United States. The festival is an acknowledgment and celebration of this fact. We will gather to affirm the pain and the losses that the Latinx community has suffered while also lifting up the many meaningful contributions that our community has made and continues to make.” said Mónica Ramírez, organizer, activist, and co-founder of The Latinx House. We will lift up Latine/x change-makers, while showcasing our collective power, culture, and truth. We are taking the reins to tell, record, and make our own history. Aspen is considered a place and space where the greatest leaders convene. The Latinx community is now taking our place among other leaders.”

The Raizado Festival will take over the Aspen Meadows, a prolific meeting site that hosts other famous annual meetings and festivals, including Aspen Ideas and Aspen Health. Aspen’s Latine and Indigenous communities are getting special recognition at the celebration honoring the history of those communities building up the town.
