It looks like someone isn’t a fan of the cold weather. U.S. Senator Ted Cruz packed his bags and flew to Cancún for a vacation with his family amid the worst winter freeze Texas has faced in decades. According to Fox News, at least 30 people have died from the storm.

While millions of Texans are still left without power and water across the state, photos of the Cruz family inside the airport and on an airplane in Mexico began circulating on social media. While it is unclear when the photos were taken, Fox News is reporting one Republican source said, “The photos speak for themselves.”

Along with the photo evidence of Cruz’s trip to Mexico, Punchbowl News was able to get its hands on the flight chart for Cruz’s flight showing that he is, in fact, on his way back to Houston from the Mexican resort.
The flight for United Airlines shows a “CRU, R.,” which many believe represents “Cruz, Raphael,” Ted’s birth name.

Like the snow that hit the Lone Star State this week, the criticism of Cruz came in droves.

Some Twitter users also took the opportunity to point out what Beto O’Rourke, the Texas representative from El Paso who lost to Cruz in the 2018 Senate race, has been doing during the weather crisis.

Cruz’s office has not responded to several media outlets’ multiple requests for comment. It looks like the weather isn’t the only thing that’s frigid these days. Someone make sure Cruz’s heart is still beating when he lands back in Texas.
