According to a report from People en Español, Shakira is allegedly going to take legal action against someone who is mailing love letters to her home in Barcelona.

The letters’ content suggests that the same person who recently wrote a marriage proposal and other words of admiration in graffiti on the street in front of the pop star’s home.

In a report from Spanish outlet Europa Press, the mysterious street text was spray-painted in English. The three messages left for Shakira were, “I love you, my pretty woman,” “I came here for you, my love” and “I’m ready to marry on you right now.” The letters apparently include very similar statements as the ones written on the street, and were allegedly signed by the same person, who goes by the name Alex.

At this point, Shakira taking legal action against the man is just a rumor. People en Español is reporting that Alex is a Russian man who has been seen hanging around the area where her home is located. The outlet is also reporting that Shakira’s brother has gone to the authorities to make a report on the harassment his sister is experiencing.

Earlier this month, Shakira and her ex-boyfriend Gerard Piqué released a joint statement stating that they were splitting up. “We regret to confirm that we are separating,” the couple said. “We ask for privacy at this moment for the well-being of our children, who are our maximum priority. Thank you in advance for your understanding and respect.”

If the reports are true and someone is sending unsolicited letters to Shakira, it’s probably not the best way to get someone’s attention. Most people don’t like correspondence from strangers.
