After a establishing Museo Jumex residency and embarking on a European tour in 2015, NAAFI has already fulfilled the lofty dreams of many independent net labels. The DF-based collective are quietly becoming global ambassadors for Mexico’s underground electronic scene, garnering press in US publications like The FADER and Pitchfork. Coverage from US outlets is certainly not the be-all and end-all of success, and the enterprise that NAAFI has built in their hometown should be celebrated and recognized in its own right, but their rise to Internet fame and its accompanying visibility are emblematic of the label’s hard work years after its founding.

We caught up with the crew during SXSW to talk about their expectations for the year to come and their collaborations with other crews like Teklife and NON Records. Here’s what’s on the horizon for one of Mexico’s most active club labels.
