Anthony Bourdain is heading back to Cuba, but as part of his Parts Unknown series. The Caribbean country will be featured on the sixth season’s opener, airing on September 27. Back in 2011, Bourdain was in Cuba for No Reservations, where he visited a much more closed off Cuba. It wasn’t until December 2014 that Barack Obama announced that the United States would work to normalize relations with Cuba. Skift reports that the episode “shows an island in transition.”

Bourdain hit up Havana and Santiago de Cuba – the two largest cities. At one paladar, he eats sushi. He also hung out with an author, hip hop artists and a journalist from The New Yorker, Jon Lee Anderson, who previously lived in Cuba. “This period we’re in right now is the lull before it all hits,”Anderson said, according to Skift. “The train is coming and it’s going to roar by and [the Cuban people] will either be able to jump on and go with it or it’s going to derail and it’ll be a mess. All of it’s possible.”
