Actresses Eva Longoria (Overboard) and Gabrielle Union (The Inspection) are currently developing an LGBTQ comedy about a pair of future mothers-in-law who are butting heads during the planning of their sons’ wedding.

According to Variety, the feature film is for Amazon Studios and both women will produce the film and likely star as the main characters.

“Eva and I try to take over their wedding [planning] and make it the wedding of our dreams versus theirs,” Union told Variety.

Since the film is still in early development, there is not much detail to report. The film doesn’t even have a title yet, but Variety is saying the comedy will be written by Ricardo Gamboa and produced by three entities: Macro Film Studios, I’ll Have Another Productions headed by Union, and UnbeliEVAble Entertainment headed by Longoria. Gamboa’s last project was the Showtime coming-of-age drama series The Chi.

Recently, it was announced that Eva Longoria would star in a reboot of the best-selling children’s book Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day for Disney+. The news comes eight years after Steve Carell and Jennifer Garner starred in the original film adaptation of the book. The new version of the movie will feature a Latine cast including George Lopez (Lopez vs Lopez).

We’re still also waiting for a release date for her directorial debut, Flamin’ Hot. The film tells the story of a Latine Frito Lay employee who is said to be the original creator of the brand’s popular Flamin’ Hot Cheetos.
