Since returning to social media last month following an approximately year-long hiatus, actress Eva Mendes (Girl in Progress) has been sharing plenty of content on her Instagram page.

In her most newest post, Mendes shared a photo of her husband, actor Ryan Gosling (La La Land), from the upcoming live-action movie Barbie, which is based on the Mattel toy line. Gosling will portray one version of the character Ken, the boyfriend of the title doll character, who will be played by actress Margot Robbie (The Suicide Squad).

“So. F. Funny. So. F. Good. So F excited for you to see this,” Mendes wrote. “#Thatsmyken.”

In the photo, Gosling is sporting blonde hair and wearing a cutoff, stonewashed denim jacket, and pair of jeans. He’s also showing off his perfectly sculpted abs and the waistband of his briefs, including the name “Ken” printed on them. Basically, it looks like a magazine advertisement for Calvin Klein.

Barbie, which began production this past March, is being directed by Academy Award-nominated filmmaker Greta Gerwig (Ladybird). Gerwig co-wrote the screenplay with long-time collaborator and boyfriend, Academy Award-nominated screenwriter Noah Baumbach (Marriage Story).

Although Gosling’s photo is one of the few officially released from the Barbie production, he will not be the only actor playing Ken. Other actors who will play different versions of the character include Simu Liu (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings) and Ncuti Gatwa (Sex Education).

There will be other versions of Barbie’s character, too, but unfortunately, Mendes is not one of them. Those actresses include Issa Rae (Insecure) and transgender model Hari Nef (Assassination Nation). America Ferrera (Superstore) is also part of the cast in a currently undisclosed role.

Barbie is scheduled to hit theaters on July 21, 2023.
