Who’s ready for seconds at Mama Fina’s? Season 2 of the half-hour dramedy series Gentefied has an official premiere date. Netflix announced Friday morning that the new season will hit the streaming platform on November 10, 2021.

Netflix says the upcoming season will return in a “more raw and poetic form, while still cracking jokes about culo-nary experiences.”

Created by Marvin Lemus and Linda Yvette Chávez and executive produced by America Ferrera, Gentefied follows the story of three Mexican-American cousins – Erik Morales (J.J. Soria), Ana Morales (Karrie Martin), and Chris Morales (Carlos Santos) – as they pursue the American Dream in East Los Angeles and also try to keep their grandfather Pop’s (Joaquín Cosio) taqueria from being pushed out of the neighborhood.

The first season leaves off on a major cliffhanger as Pop gets hauled off by ICE after he is pulled over by police. We also see Erik and Lidia (Annie Gonzalez) welcome their newborn daughter into the world and Chris with a shocked look on his face when his father offers to send him money to pay for cooking school.

This season will see the cousins come together to try to save their abuelo from getting deported and come face to face with the potential loss of their beloved taco shop. There’s also apparently an episode where they are looking for rapper Bad Bunny at a party. Here’s to hoping the primos find Bad Bunny this season and sing “De Museo” with him karaoke style.

Also joining the cast for Season 2 are actors Clarissa Thibeaux (TV’s Runaways), Melinna Bobadilla (TV’s Orange is the New Black), and Ivana Rojas (TV’s Sneakerheads).
