When you have more than 24 million followers on Instagram, a major network is probably going to think it’s a good idea to do a project with you and tap into that built in fanbase.
That’s where Spanish-Argentine model and Instagram influencer Georgina Rodríguez finds herself today. Georgina, a new Spanish-language reality docuseries on her life and career as a social media star, has been announced for production by Netflix.
Rodríguez, 27, who is the girlfriend of fútbol superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, posted an image on her Instagram account Thursday (April 15) saying she was very excited and happy about the new series.
Rodríguez has been posting photos on Instagram since May 2015. Her very first was a selfie of her doing the splits in workout gear against a mirror in a dance studio. If you peruse her Instagram account, it looks to be one of her favorite, go-to poses.
Since then, Rodríguez posts images of herself regularly working out, traveling and modeling. She also posts photos of her family life with Ronaldo, their daughter Alana, who was born in 2017, and her three step kids from Ronaldo’s previous relationships.
According to The Sun, Rodríguez has a Spanish mother and Argentine father. Her father is apparently a convicted drug trafficker who spent a decade behind bars for smuggling cocaine and cannabis resin.
We’re not sure if that part of her life is going to be explored in the Netflix docuseries, but what is probably a safe bet is that it will cover her rise in the social media world and how she’s balancing her career with her family life.
