A trailer for a new horror movie called X just hit online and features actress Jenna Ortega (Yes Day) and rapper and actor Kid Cudi (Don’t Look Up). X is directed by Ti West (The House of the Devil).
X follows a young film crew who arrives at a secluded farmhouse in Texas to shoot an adult movie. When night falls, their hosts, a creepy elderly couple, make their stay less than enjoyable. The film also stars Brittany Snow (Pitch Perfect) and Mia Goth (Suspiria).
In the trailer, Ortega and Cudi are traveling in a van with the rest of their film crew to the setting of their next porn production. Cudi plays one of the adult film stars, while Ortega plays a member of the filmmaking crew. During the road trip, Cudi’s character is seen going over the script with his fellow adult actress played by Snow.
When they get to their destination, they are welcomed by the property owner, who Cudi’s character describes as “one ugly son of a bitch.” Once they settle into the rural “studio backlot,” the young crew starts getting ready to shoot. Ortega’s character, however, is worried that the couple who own the ranch have no idea the kind of movie they’re about to make.
“He don’t know what we’re doing, does he?” she asks. Later, Ortega tells another member of the film crew that she wants to be in the movie herself. The trailer cuts to a shot of her scantily clad on the bed getting ready for a scene.
Soon after, things start to get very weird and dangerous for the crew as the owners take a special interest in what they are doing behind closed doors. Before X, Ortega will be seen in another horror film, Scream, which hits theaters on January 14.
X, starring Kid Cudi and Jenna Ortega, is scheduled to be released on March 18, 2022.
