After Blim Declares Streaming War, Netflix Releases Hilarious Video Trolling Televisa

Anyone watching the market reports will know that Netflix hit a little bump in the road with its latest quarterly growth projections. From April to June 2016, the global streaming juggernaut racked up a grand total of 1.7 million new subscribers, which fell short of the 2.5 million projected and sent their stock value tumbling 14%.

Then Televisa’s streaming platform Blim went in for the kill, forcing Netflix to remove all of the Mexican network’s content on October 1st and leaving them deprived of classic novelas like Rebelde and Teresa. But after bouncing back with a 5% gain in their stock value this past week, Netflix has responded to Televisa’s declaration of war with a big ole’ snarky “who cares?”

Their latest Youtube troll takes a hilarious jab at Netflix subscribers who might be shaken by the news, essentially asking us whether we prefer titles like Stranger Things, Breaking BadNarcos, and OITNB or Televisa’s Rebelde. Ironically, the 54-second spot was made with higher production value than anything Televisa has ever released.

Of course, we’d love to see Latin American services giving Netflix a run for their money in their home markets… just not Televisa.
