Oscar Isaac has really taken to outer space. Though he’s currently shooting Star Wars: Episode VIII, he’s already signed on for his next galactic quest in the upcoming sci-fi thriller Annihilation. He is once again teaming up with Ex Machina director Alex Garland, and will star alongside Gina Rodriguez, Tessa Thompson, Jennifer Jason Leigh, and Natalie Portman. The movie revolves around a psychologist, biologist, surveyor, and anthropologist exploring the mysterious and uninhabited Area X.

The four-woman team will take the 12th trip to Area X – a dangerous mission because all of the previous expeditions have brought unfortunate results for the explorers, like baffling bouts of amnesia and premature deaths caused by cancer. In Area X, “the laws of nature don’t apply,” SlashFilm reports.

Isaac will portray Portman’s husband, a member of a previous expedition to Area X who’s gone missing, according to The Verge. The four female scientists head out in search of the missing explorer. While Isaac may not get too much screen time with Gina, she is crazy excited that he’s joined the team. She spent part of her morning retweeting articles about the movie casting.

Annihilation is slated to hit theaters in 2017.
