Tego Calderón. Don Omar. Romeo Santos. The Fast and the Furious films have a history of inviting Latino musicians to bring their talents to the big screen. And from the looks of it Fast & Furious 9 is gonna keep that streak going. Ozuna and Cardi B will be both be seen in the next installment of the long-running franchise, as per Vin Diesel’s Instagram, which is now apparently serving as a casting news hub for all things Fast and Furious. One hopes the sure-to-be action-packed film — which is being directed by Justin Lin and will see Diesel reprising his role alongside Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson and Ludacris — will reunite the “La Modelo” collaborators on screen, but either way, their involvement shows that Diesel and Lin have great taste in music.

For both Ozuna and Cardi B Fast 9 will be a follow-up to their big-screen debuts. Known for his record-breaking YouTube presence and his high-charting toppers, the Puerto Rican singer behind “El Farsante” starred in the DR-set romantic comedy Qué León last year (a film which already has a sequel, Los Leones, in preproduction.) Meanwhile, the Grammy-winning rapper made quite the splash with her scene-stealing role in Hustlers, which was written just for her by director Lorene Scafaria. And, from what we can see in Diesel’s ‘gram, it sounds like she may well be just as memorable in the high-octane actioner, out next year. “This is gonna be the best one!” she promises.
