After much speculation, the Mexico and Brazil spin-offs of RuPaul’s Drag Race are officially confirmed to be happening. In an announcement made yesterday (Dec. 12), the premiere for season 15 of the main series was also revealed.

Rumors around the spin-offs of RuPaul’s Drag Race in Mexico and Brazil started circulating in August when World of Wonder, the production company behind the franchise, put out casting calls in those countries. Now fans can look forward to Drag Race Mexico and Drag Race Brazil very soon as World of Wonder revealed they are on the roster. This will mark the first time that RuPaul takes her franchise into Latin America.

Drag Race Germany also received the green light. And when the spin-offs air, they will be available to watch on MTV or Paramount+ in their respective countries. A Global All-Stars spin-off was also confirmed.

“With the global expansion of ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race,’ we’re thrilled to bring the franchise into three new Paramount+ territories — Germany, Brazil, and Mexico — and are very excited that ‘RuPaul’s Secret Celebrity Drag Race’ will return for a third season with our partners at VH1/BET,” Chris McCarthy, president, and CEO of Paramount Media Networks and MTV Entertainment Studios, said in a statement.

The third season of RuPaul’s Secret Celebrity Drag Race will be airing next year. In that spin-off, celebrities are done up in drag by fan-favorite queens. And for those fans who are looking forward to the next season of RuPaul’s Drag Race, the main series will be returning next month. Season 15 will also start airing on MTV on Jan. 6.

“‘Drag Race’ is about universal themes of love, self-expression, and acceptance — and there has never been a more important time than now for these ideas to be expressed internationally,” Fenton Bailey and Randy Barbato, CEOs of World of Wonder, said in a statement. “Thanks to Chris McCarthy, Nina L. Diaz, and their incredible team at MTV Entertainment Studios, we are honored to continue our mission to showcase the artistry of drag in different languages and cultures around the world.”

With a Drag Race spin-off in Mexico, maybe the fan dream to have the Mexican-American drag queen Valentina host the series can come true.
