Although known for her nearly 35 years as an actress in Mexico and the United States, Oscar nominee Salma Hayek has a few producing credits under her belt, too, including the biopic Frida, the sitcom Ugly Betty, and the Netflix series Monarca.

Hayek will soon add to her credentials with the upcoming romantic fantasy feature film Quiero Tu Vida (I Want Your Life) for TelevisaUnivision. According to Deadline, the film follows a young soccer player named Nico (Erick Elías), whose career is derailed when he suffers a serious injury on the field. Unable to stop thinking about how his life would’ve turned out had he become a successful athlete, Nico is magically given the opportunity to live out his dream despite the consequences that might come with it.

Currently in production in Mexico City, the film, which will be directed by Jorge Colón (Sin Ella), also stars Zuria Vega (Que te Perdone Dios), Bárbara de Regil (El Torito), Jesús Zavala (La Boda de Valentina) and Natalia Téllez (Te Acuerdas de Mí).

“When I was 17 years old, I participated in my first film under the direction of my dear [Jorge Colón],” Vega wrote on Instagram along with a photo from the film’s set. “Today, many years later, we meet again on the set…Ready to enter the field?”

Quiero Tu Vida is based on a script by José Tamez and Garcia Castro and is produced by Salma Hayek, Tamez, and Jorge Garcia Castro. It is the first project by TelevisaUnivision for the Spanish-language streaming platform Vix+.
