Don’t underestimate the impact that 1980s movies have on consumers with a soft spot for nostalgia. One of the best examples of this happened a few months ago when the sequel to Top Gun became one of the biggest blockbusters in movie history. Now, another 1980s movie might find its way back to the theaters. According to Deadline, 20th Century is developing a reboot of the 1988 film Working Girl and is bringing actress and singer Selena Gomez along as a producer.

The original romantic comedy starred Melanie Griffith (The Disaster Artist) as an ambitious albeit disrespected secretary who takes a risk in her career when she tries to settle a big merger on her own when her boss is out of commission.

Working Girl received nominations for six Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actress (Griffith), and two Best Supporting Actress nods (Sigourney Weaver and Joan Cusack). It won an Oscar for Best Song for Carly Simon’s “Let the River Run.”

Deadline is reporting that the Working Girl reboot would likely premiere on Hulu. Plot details for the reboot are still unknown, but the script is to be adapted by Ilana Peña. She wrote the Diary of a Future President series and directed an episode of Gordita Chronicles.

Currently, Gomez is an executive producer and one of the stars of the Hulu comedy Only Murders in the Building. She recently became only the second Latina ever to earn an Emmy nomination as a producer of a comedy series.
