There’s an Animated ‘Fast & Furious’ Series & Season 4 Kicks Off In Mexico City

If you thought The Fast and the Furious franchise only had 10 movies in its arsenal, including the upcoming sequel F9, you haven’t been paying close attention to all the wheel-screeching action that’s been happening across other mediums.

The full media franchise also includes video games, toys, live-action shows, a theme park attraction, and an animated TV series. That animated show, Fast & Furious Spy Racers, recently kicked off its fourth season on Netflix, this time titling the show Fast & Furious Spy Racers: Mexico.

In the fourth season, the teenage cartoon crew are on the run after being framed for a crime. They travel to Mexico City to “lay low” and find out who set them up. In the trailer for the new season, the gang, led by Tony Toretto, the nephew of Vin Diesel’s Dom Toretto from the live-action movies, breaks out of police custody. “Torettos never stay locked up for long,” Tony says after jumping from an armored vehicle and onto a sports car.

The crew, however, is not alone. A “tracker” named Palindrome (Paul Wight, a.k.a The Big Show, a former WWE wrestler), who one of the characters describes as a “vending machine with arms,” is in pursuit of the teens and won’t stop until he captures them all. But it looks like the animated version of the street racers is just as good behind the wheel as their live-action counterparts, so anything can happen on the road.

Fast & Furious Spy Racers: Mexico stars a diverse voice cast, including Latino actors Tyler Posey (TV’s Teen Wolf) as Tony; Jorge Diaz (TV’s East Los High) as Cisco Renaldo; and newcomer Danny Trejo (Machete) as Tuco.
