Diego Luna (Andor) may have officially joined the Star Wars Universe in 2016 when he debuted as rebel pilot Cassian Andor in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, but the Mexican actor has been a fan of the sci-fi franchise since he was a kid.

During a recent interview with IMDb, Luna talked about how he was first introduced to the Star Wars movies in Spanish while growing up in Mexico. He also explained why he called one of the characters featured in the original trilogy by a different name until he was a young adult.

“We in Mexico call R2-D2, we call it Arturito, you know, because it sounds close to R2-D2,” Luna said. “We call him Little Arthur. I grew up thinking he was called Little Arthur. You know, it took me a while to find out it was [R-2-D-2 in Spanish]. You know, R2-D2. I mean, I guess I was 20 years old when I realized that. So, I do need help in this universe, as you can tell.”

Luna also answered a question about what kind of accessories would be packaged with a Diego Luna action figure. How about an A280-CFE convertible heavy blaster pistol like his character carries?

“Definitely, he would have a bottle of Mezcal, you know, somewhere,” Luna said. “Could I get a mask – like a luchador mask? You know, like a wrestling mask?”

Unfortunately, there will be no luchador masks in the new series Andor. As for the Mezcal, maybe Cassian can carry a flask in his holster.

Andor debuts its first three episodes on September 21, 2022, on Disney+.
