Anuel AA has broken his silence about his breakup with Karol G. During an Instagram Live on Tuesday (April 20), the Puerto Rican artist confirmed that he and Karol split up a few months ago.
“Time has gone by,” he said in Spanish. Anuel went on to say that he and Karol G decided to part ways around over four months ago.
While there were rumors going around about one of them cheating on the other, Anuel said none of them cheated while they were in a relationship. He also insisted that there’s no bad blood between the two of them. Anuel called their breakup “something that happens in life” and said that was hopefully the last time that he would talk about it.
After Anuel AA hosted his Instagram live, Karol G later broke her silence on the breakup. She took to her Instagram stories to address the situation.
“If just accepting it is hard enough, imagine having to do it in front of millions of people,” Karol wrote in Spanish. “For a long time we tried to keep our relationship away from social media in order to take care of ourselves. We have never used our relationship for marketing purposes, not today, not even three years ago.”
Karol G and Anuel AA first met while filming their music video for “Culpables” in 2018. A few months later they went public with their relationship in the music video for “Secreto.” They were engaged to be wed.
“Thank you for joining us in our crazy antics,” Karol G wrote. “I love you Emmanuel, my gratitude to you, your family and everything we lived, grew, and learned together is infinite.”
