El Conejo Malo is finishing 2018 strong, having become Apple Music’s most streamed Latino artist and releasing a strident statement against domestic violence in his compelling “Solo de Mi” video, which features a woman fielding invisible blows to her face while she mouths the song’s lyrics onstage. (Benito has a co-director credit on the clip.) But those moves weren’t quite the coda for the Puerto Rican vocalist’s strongest year yet. That may well be Tuesday’s announcement of a 14-date US “Bad Bunny Live” tour starting in March; Benito’s second headlining run through the continental United States.

The tour sees Bad Bunny essentially circling the mainland, and includes stops in Connecticut, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Washington, Florida, and five nights in Texas. The Latin trap star will finish the run in the 20,789-seat Madison Square Garden on April 27. Those hoping to catch the man on stage should be advised that tickets go on sale Friday, December 21 on Ticketmaster.

Stay sharp, because this year most of his US shows ended up selling out, including dates in Los Angeles and Miami, and Benito has climbed quite a few rungs up the industry’s fame ladder since the last round of live gigs. One imagines that 2019 will bring more of the same, especially with the ever-impending release of his debut album (tentatively titled La Nueva Religión) and a rumored collaboration project with J. Balvin. “I think if I keep working in the way that I am, from the heart and from passion and with love, well, the fruits of that will keep coming,” Bad Bunny told The Fader in an interview this fall.
