The nominees for the 2022 Billboard Latin Music Awards are here. And among this year’s most-nominated artists are Bad Bunny, Karol G, and Becky G.
Thanks to the success of his blockbuster album Un Verano Sin Ti, Bad Bunny is miles ahead of everyone else with nominations. The Puerto Rican superstar racked up an impressive 23 nominations, including for Artist of the Year and Tour of the Year. Moreover, Un Verano Sin Ti is nominated for Top Latin Album of the Year. The LP’s hits like “Me Porto Bonito,” “Tití Me Preguntó,” “Ojitos Lindos,” and “Party” are nominated for Hot Latin Song of the Year and Streaming Song of the Year.
The second most-nominated artist this year is Karol, with 15 nominations, including for Artist of the Year. From the success of her last album, KG0516, the Colombian superstar is up for Top Latin Album of the Year. Also recognized is her collab hit with Becky G, “MAMIII,” up for Hot Latin Song of the Year. Becky G follows Karol G with 11 nominations.
Farruko is tied with Becky G with 11 nominations. Most of his nominations are due to the hit “Pepas,” nominated for Hot Latin Song of the Year. Another Puerto Rican star, Rauw Alejandro, follows with 10 nominations. He’s up for Top Latin Album of the Year for last year’s Vice Versa.
Aventura is the most-nominated tropical act at the 2022 Billboard Latin Music Awards. The Dominican-American band led by Romeo Santos received seven nominations. They had a massive hit last year with “Volví” featuring Bad Bunny. Eslabón Armado is the most-nominated regional Mexican music act with six nominations.
The 2022 Billboard Latin Music Awards will be broadcast live on Telemundo on Thursday, Sept. 29. The awards will also coincide with Billboard Latin Music Week that’s happening in Miami from Sept. 26 to Oct. 1. Romeo Santos and Eslabón Armado are among confirmed guests for the week-long event.
