If you thought Bad Bunny was going to miss the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards, think again. On Aug. 24, it was announced that the Puerto Rican icon is bringing his World Hottest Tour to your television screen. That’s right! His performance will air during the award show on Sunday, Aug. 28 via MTV.

If there’s someone who can make it all happen, it’s Benito and his team. According to Harper’s Bazaar, “The performance will be a special ‘made for VMAs’ moment airing live from the Bad Bunny’s World’s Hottest Tour stop at Yankees stadium in the Bronx, New York.” It will mark the first VMAs performance ever to be aired from the prestigious venue. This also marks Benito’s second performance at the VMAs. He performed “Que Pretendes” alongside J Balvin in 2019.

With this in mind, not only will the fans at the live performance experience the unique event, but those at home will also be able to enjoy El Conejo Malo’s production. Other than his performance, Bad Bunny is also nominated in four categories at the VMAs this year: “Artist of the Year,” “Best Latin” for “Tití Me Preguntó,” “Song of the Summer” for “Me Porto Bonito” featuring Chencho Corleone, and “Album of the Year.”

Regardless of the category’s outcomes, what’s true is that the Un Verano Sin Ti singer will make history either way by being the first to showcase his concert’s production on MTV live from the Yankees Stadium.

Other Latine artists performing at the VMAs include Anitta and J Balvin. Anitta is set to perform “Envolver,” while J Balvin will sing “Nivel de Perreo.” Anitta’s “Envolver” and J Balvin’ & Skrillex’s “In Da Getto” are also nominated for “Best Latin.”

Which Latine artists will take home the awards this year? Fans can cast their votes at MTV.com. The MTV Video Music Awards will be held at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey on Sunday, Aug 28.
