Bad Bunny brought the girl power to the Billboard Music Awards tonight (Wednesday, Oct. 14). The Puerto Rican superstar performed his hit “Yo Perreo Sola” alongside the song’s featured voice Nesi and the queen of reggaetón, Ivy Queen.

One of the biggest criticisms that’s been leveled at Bad Bunny about his YHLQMDLG album is how he did not list Boricua singer Nesi as a featured artist on “Yo Perreo Sola.” That move was reminiscent of the antiquated way Glory was not featured on Daddy Yankee’s breakthrough hits even though she was a prominent voice on the songs.

To finally right that wrong in a way, Bad Bunny brought out Nesi to perform her parts of “Yo Perreo Sola” live at the Billboard Music Awards. This is the first time that she sang the song alongside him. In a surprise move, Benito also brought out Ivy Queen for a special remix of the song that will hopefully be released soon. Ivy has said in the past that today’s reggaetón stars were leaving her on read when it came to collaborating, so it was nice to see Bad Bunny share the spotlight with the OG reggaetonera.

Following the performance, Bad Bunny won the award for Top Latin Artist. In Spanish, he dedicated his win to “women all around the world, especially the Latinas and women in Puerto Rico.” He spoke against machista violence against women. “Aprendamos que se puede perrear, ser educado, y respetuoso a la misma vez” Benito said.

Shortly after the award show, the rapper released the audio to the remix performed on YouTube. Listen below:

Next up, Bad Bunny is up for 14 nominations at next week’s Billboard Latin Music Awards. Then next month, we’ll see if he wins any of his nine Latin Grammy nominations.
