Bronx rapper Cardi B has never been shy about repping her Dominican roots. Loyal fans know she’s got deep love for dembow, reggaeton, and trap en español (just dig into Instagram for proof that she’s an Ozuna stan).

On Sunday, August 13, Cardi B attended Manhattan’s annual Dominican Day Parade to celebrate her quisqueyana heritage on local radio giant La Mega 97.9’s float. In a red-white-and-blue bustier, Cardi teased the Spanish-language remix of her hit “Bodak Yellow,” which currently holds the no. 8 spot on the Billboard Hot 100. The remix also features a verse from Harlem-raised Dominican rapper Messiah El Artista, who joined Cardi on the float for the performance.

Cardi also threw down some palos on the float later on.

Messiah teased the remix back on August 3, when he posted a photo of the pair in the studio; according to him, the studio version is set to drop this Friday, August 18.

For Latino rappers from New York, the Spanish remix is now an institution – a nod to the city’s massive Dominican and Puerto Rican hip-hop fanbase, and a way of repping their roots that feels genuine. Though Messiah and Cardi collabed in the past on Farruko’s Uptown staple “Chapi Chapi,” the remix will no doubt give Messiah a solid co-sign from one of the buzziest rappers in the game, and possibly give “Bodak Yellow” another healthy boost on the charts.

Update, 8/14/2017, 4:15 p.m.: Cardi B’s “Bodak Yellow” has now hit the no. 8 spot on the Billboard Hot 100. This post has been updated to reflect the new chart position.
