Cardi B might be giving Simon Cowell a run for his money next fall. Netflix has announced that the Bronx-born rapper will be one of the judges on Rhythm + Flow, a new reality music competition that will aim to find America’s next breakout hip-hop star.

Along with Chance the Rapper and T.I, Cardi will check out talent from across the country and assess the skills of undiscovered hip-hop artists all over the US. Given her own reality TV experience and breakout success, Cardi is the perfect person to help find a star that can burst onto the hip-hop scene like she did. The show will be having auditions in a bunch of locations, including the judges’ hometowns of New York, Atlanta, and Chicago.

Cardi went on Instagram just after Netflix announced the show and started riling people up. “DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES ??” she wrote in an initial post. Then, she doubled down with a video that let the world know that she’s not playing as she tries to find the next big thing in music.

“I’m looking for the diamond in the rough, I’m looking for somebody that’s gonna stick. I’m looking for somebody that when I go to my car, I’m going to remember their music, I’m going to remember their face, I’m going to remember their personality,” she said.

“I’m looking for that ‘it’ factor,” she added. “And I don’t give a fuck if you don’t think I’m qualified as a judge. Bitch, I make good fucking music because you know my name and you know my motherfucking records, right, bitch?”

The series is being co-produced by John Legend and will take the form of 10 one-hour episodes that kick off in fall 2019. Until then, the producers are already diving in to mine talent, and anyone interested in being Cardi’s diamond in the rough can find more info about auditions at www.RhythmAndFlowAuditions.com.
