Hip-hop’s first couple have officially announced their split. Early Wednesday morning, Cardi B posted a video to Instagram declaring that the couple have called it quits. “I’ve been trying to work things out with my baby’s father for a hot minute now,” she says in the clip. “And you know, we’re really good friends and we’re really good business partners and he’s always somebody that I run to to talk to and we got a lotta love for each other, but things just haven’t been working out between us for a long time. And it’s nobody’s fault, I guess we just grew out of love. But we’re not together anymore.” Cardi then shared the couple has plans to get a divorce, though she suggested it will take some time to complete the process.
Cardi and Offset married in a secret ceremony in September 2017, and the Migos rapper later proposed to her publicly during Philadelphia’s Power 99 Powerhouse concert. Some fans suggest the video is a stunt to promote Offset’s solo album, which is set to drop on December 14. Rumors about the couple’s relationship drama have circulated for some time, with the two superstars addressing their troubles directly on songs like “Be Careful” and the remix to “Ahora Dice.”
