“It was not a concert, it was an experience.” So said Rafael “Raphy” Pina, the famed promoter behind Daddy Yankee’s Con Calma Pa’l Choli tour. And he’s not wrong. The concert series, which ran throughout the month of December at Puerto Rico’s José Miguel Agrelot Coliseum, was unlike any other to ever enter the venue. Following its celebrated conclusion this weekend, we’ve gathered just some of the reasons why it made history, below.

Back in October, El Cangri started setting new records long before his concert series even took off. The 42-year-old swiftly sold out more show dates than any artist at the coliseum (affectionately called El Choli) in history. Not to mention, he reportedly racked up millions in ticket sales off the bat.

All this happened in spite of unforeseeable setbacks — vandals decided to shoot up the venue, and during one performance, Daddy Yankee got stuck on a descending platform for several minutes. While the latter was more of a minor interruption, he still used it as an opportunity to make the most of his time at El Choli by offering a free “make-up” performance the following weekend. And now, thanks to Raphy, we have some official numbers for the entire run.

According to the producer, Con Calma Pa’l Choli saw “more than 170k” people in attendance over only the course of one month. The concert series also concluded at 12 shows (two of which were matinees — also a first in venue history) with over 12 million dollars collected in ticket sales.

“Thank you, thank you, thank you,” Pina closed off his Instagram post, “[This was a] GIANT movement for the economy and tourism of Puerto Rico.” His note reminds us all that not only is Daddy Yankee absolutely killing it for himself; he’s El Jefe of an entire island.

And in case you’re wondering: yes, he’ll even be on tour again in 2020.
