El Jefe wasn’t going to let his people down. After the devastating 6.4 magnitude earthquake that hit Puerto Rico on Tuesday, January 7, Daddy Yankee and his longtime producer Raphy Pina have been cooking up a plan to help those affected on the island — and thanks to Pina, we now have an idea of what this aid will look like. The label head took to Instagram late Thursday evening to confirm the pair’s plans for this weekend: On Sunday, January 12, he and Daddy Yankee will head to Puerto Rico’s most affected southern area to provide supplies and entertainment for up to 100 families.

In a caption for his Instagram post, Pina explained: “S U N D A Y starts the real show! And it’s supporting our affected families! @daddyyankee confirmed! Tomorrow we will give you details of where we’ll go,” he wrote originally in Spanish. “We need the smallest support from you to give the maximum for them! Even with a smile you’ll help us!” Pina also tagged Dominican reggaetonera Natti Natasha and the Chicago Cubs’ shortstop Javier “Javy” Báez in his post, suggesting that they might show up for Sunday’s relief event.

Pina added that he and his team will donate 100 electric generators for the first 100 families to show up to Sunday’s event, along with refrigerators, tanks of gasoline, clothing, hot food, and more. He also promises a reprieve for families with children, explaining in his video that he is trying to get a bouncy castle at the event, too.

And while he and Daddy Yankee seem to be covering most costs, Pina did urge anyone else in the public to show up and donate essential items for this weekend’s event. In a following IGTV post from this morning on January 10, Pina’s caption reads: “Since I couldn’t sleep and at this hour nobody will answer me, I’m talking to you! This weekend the event is in the south/ southwest area,” he confirmed.

“We’re going to bring anything that you find whether it’s minimal to them it’s maximum! Whatever it is from clothes / shoes / Off [bug spray] / brushes / medicines / everything is good, and as soon as they arrive in those municipalities they will be guided to the collection centers or hospitals or nursing homes, etc.!”

Preparations for the weekend are already well underway, with Pina updating fans as more supplies are retrieved. Shortly after his video from this morning, the producer posted a photo of the 100 generators he promised.
