The iconic reggaeton global star Daddy Yankee has released his final album LEGENDADDY — and it did not disappoint. We waited almost a decade since his last album release, but it was all worth the wait. The King of Reggaeton made sure he left his best on LEGENDADDY, making space for newer artists to showcase their talent while also collaborating with OG artists to give us that 2000s reggaeton club bangers.

Releasing nine videos in one go, he’s had the internet spiraling and entertained since the album dropped yesterday (March 24). As we reported before, LEGENDADDY not only comes in strong with an elite tracklist full of star collaborators but also executes it in a way that, from beginning to end, makes you feel like you’re living through his whole legacy in the 19-track album. We hear songs such as “BOMBÓN” that, with the help of El Alfa and Lil Jon’s essential ad-libs, transports us to the beginning of his career when Lil Jon and Daddy Yankee would frequently collaborate. We also feel this time shift during “RUMBATÓN,” where the track gives us a hint of 2004’s “Lo Que Pasó, Pasó.”

Other highlights include Daddy Yankee jumping on songs highlighting his collaborators’ signature sounds. We hear Rauw Alejandro’s ‘80s pop sound and Nile Rodger’s distinctive guitar on “AGUA,” and the club banger anthem vibe that Pitbull is known for on “HOT.” We also can’t forget to mention Sech’s emotional vocals on “PARA SIEMPRE” and the Tainy-produced futuristic reggaeton track Bad Bunny collaboration “X ÚLTIMA VEZ.”

Here are some of Twitter’s reactions — fans just can’t get enough of the new album.
