Demi Lovato has been baring it all in her new YouTube docuseries, Demi Lovato: Dancing With the Devil/em>, but goes one step further in the upcoming music video for “Dancing With the Devil.”

Revealing exclusively to EW, Lovato released behind-the-scenes photos from the set of the soon-to-be released music video. The shots show the level of detail Lovato (who co-directs the video with docuseries director Michael D. Ratner) is taking to be authentic to her audience, and to herself.

The photos offer a look at the near exact recreation of the night Lovato overdosed, and include scenes of her at a bar, on a gurney, and, ultimately, in a hospital bed. EW states that “Every detail is accurate, from her hair to her makeup and even a green jacket similar to the one she was wearing the night of the overdose.”

Lovato states that the idea to “recreate that night” was “the ultimate catharsis” and also served as a “companion piece of art to the documentary” where she has been detailing her recovery journey since the overdose that nearly killed her in 2018.

The docuseries revealed that Lovato suffered three strokes and a heart attack. Doctors told her she was “minutes” from death.

Lovato previously discussed why she decided to come forward with her experience. “Sometimes being descriptive can be triggering, but that’s the sad, sad truth of how dark it can get,” she said. “That’s important to give people, too.”
