El Alfa isn’t waiting until December to start celebrating the Christmas season. The dembow artist has just released an original new track for the fifth annual Spotify Singles collection.

This year’s collection includes Christmas covers and original songs from musicians like Spoon, Nao, Ashnikko, jxdn, Caylee Hammack, Chandler Moore, MisterWives, Surfaces, and Alexandra Streliski, among others. El Alfa collaborated with El Cherry Scom, Kiko El Crazy, and Shelow Shaq for his track, “Prende el Arbolito.”

“For me, this song means something super important because this is my favorite time of the year, so creating this song was just amazing,” El Alfa said in a statement. “I did this track with several artists from the Dominican Republic because I want to showcase our culture and push the track to become a Christmas anthem to Dominicans and Latinos all around the world. I always try to do new things, and I believe doing a Christmas dembow represents just that. I hope everyone enjoys it as much as I do.”

El Alfa’s Christmas dembow song is a high-energy and upbeat jam that is very different than any conventional Christmas ballad like “Joy to the World” or “Silent Night.” It would be amazing, however, to open your front door and see Christmas carolers performing “Prende el Arbolito” on the front porch.

The new song should help solidify El Alfa’s strong showing on Spotify. He is currently ranked No. 164 in the world with more than 18 million monthly listeners. Try listening to “Prende el Arbolito” and not rapping “Merry Christmas” or “Viva la Navidad” to everyone you see from now till December 25.
