There are many benefits to supporting local businesses, and now, it could even land you a spot at one of Chicago’s most exciting new music festivals. Sueños Festival has teamed up with a number of local Latine businesses to give away free tickets for the festivities to be held on May 27 to 28 at Grant Park.

Here’s how it works: between May 1 and 20, 18 Latine-owned businesses in the city will be giving away 20 two-day general admission passes to Sueños Festival 2023. By visiting and patronizing any of the participating businesses during their regular operating hours, fans can enter for a chance to attend the festival.

“From the early creations of Sueños, we wanted the festival to be a space that not only brings Latin music to Chicago, but celebrates, invests, and uplifts the city’s local Latin communities,” Aaron Ampudia and Chris Den Uijl, co-founders of Sueños, tell Remezcla via email. “With ‘20 Days of Sueños,’ we wanted to find a way that got the fans excited and brought them to some amazing Latin-owned businesses throughout the city.”

The list of businesses the festival partnered with ranges from restaurants and shops that reflect the rich cultural heritage of Chicago’s Latine population. In an effort to build community and make the festivities more inclusive, many of the participating businesses are located across the Southwest Side and West Side neighborhoods that are home to significant Mexican and Puerto Rican communities. From taco stand to sandwich shops and beyond, there are plenty of options to explore.

Fans can look forward to a stacked artist lineup this year. This year’s festival will be headlined by Wisin y Yandel and Feid on Saturday night (May 27), with Arcángel, Chencho Corleone, and Ivy Queen hitting the stage earlier in the evening. Sunday night (May 28) is just as starry, with Grupo Firme and Nicky Jam on the top of the bill. Becky G, Eladio Carríon, and Myke Towers will also hit the stage that night.

On top of the incredible music lineup, attendees can also look forward to a wide range of food, art, and entertainment at the festival. With curated selections of Chicago’s best Latine cuisine, art installations, and many other experiences, the Sueños Festival promises to be a memorable weekend for everyone.
