Kevin Fret – who billed himself as the first openly gay Latin trap artist, and who was murdered in Puerto Rico – has a new video out, which premiered on Univison on Tuesday. The short preview for the posthumous single “Mala” shows the 24-year-old rapper walking down a red carpet as adoring fans reach out to him to pose for selfies, later making his way into a strip club where he dances and declares he’s ready for fame.
As we’ve previously reported, the rapper was murdered in January while riding his motorcycle in Santurce. Since then, rumors of Ozuna’s involvment have swirled around the internet, with Fret’s mother recently weighing in and claiming the “Baila Baila Baila” singer and his manager, Vicente Saavedra were indeed involved in Fret’s murder.
“I know that it was [Ozuna] who ordered my son to be killed, together with Vicente Saavedra,” Fret’s mother, Hilda Rodriguez told Samantha Love on Love’s internet radio show. “Ozuna carries this in his conscience.”
But Puerto Rican prosescutors – who have interviewed both Ozuna and Saavedra in their ongoing investigation – have cleared Ozuna, and claimed he’s never been a suspect in their investigation.
